Coffee Catastrophe

Instead of waking up this morning to a freshly brewed pot of coffee, I woke up to a mini-disaster.
Apparently when I was getting the coffee ready last night, I screwed something up.
We have a Cuisinart grind and brew (which we LOVE); so every night all I have to do is fill up the reservoir with water, add coffee beans to the grinder in the top of the machine and hit the ‘program’ button. At 5:10am, the beans are ground and the coffee is made - perfect.
However, I must have done something wrong because when I walked into the kitchen this morning there was coffee and coffee grounds all over our baker’s rack as well as the coffee machine itself.
The little door was open which houses the filter basket so I’m guessing that I didn’t close it properly. I watch a lot of crime shows, so I know how to look for evidence! ;-)
So, not only did I not have my coffee ready and waiting for me, but I had a huge mess on my hands. Excellent.
It was a pain to clean up, but thankfully I was driving in today and didn't have to rush to catch the train.

As I just mentioned, I took the train (subway) to work this morning, as opposed to the commuter rail (train), because I have my first softball practice (rehearsal) tonight!!
My team has had a few practices, but this is the first one that I’ve been able to attend because of the show.
You’ll notice that often times I’ll refer to my softball practices as rehearsal. I mostly do it to be silly, but often times I’ll say it without even thinking of it, much to the amusement of my teammates. When we were at our last tournament (in Montreal last September) I said to my friend (and second baseman) Kevin: “Oh no….this is the last time we’ll be wearing our softball outfits until next season!” I didn’t think anything of it until Kevin looked at me with a horrified expression on his face and then burst into hysterical laughter.
Outfits, uniforms, costumes….whatever. It’s all the same….much like rehearsal and practice.

Either way, chances are that I’m going to be in agony after tonight. I haven’t touched a softball since September and as much as I like to think the show kept me active and in shape....it ain’t the same. Not to mention the fact that it is going to be COLD out there!!! Good thing I dressed warmly....damn New England.

Well my peeps….I’m getting back to work!

Blog at you later.

I saw Kevin last night at our teams' softball practice. He looks good - he has the sexiest forearms.

And for the record "softball rehearsal" is MY tag line Missy. I've been using it on my blog LONG before YOU said it! hahahahahahaha

I give you the "outfits" remark though. :)

it took me a long time to stop calling Jose's practices "rehearsals"...so you are not alone!...but I did get a good chuckle out of the "outfits"...LOL
