Have a GREAT long weekend!!!!

Name change??
Yikes...clearly my life has been in the way of my blogging.
Don't get me wrong, everything is GREAT, but I've become one of those bloggers that drive me crazy, due to lack of posts. All I can do is TRY. I'll try to write a little something each day, just to let you know I still care.
Things are going well....our pool is being opened today, our softball team won another game last weekend, one of my good friends and teammates celebrated his 40th birthday party last weekend, I saw a hysterically funny 'show' last night featuring Seth Rudetsky, one of my faves....and here I am today....working.
Have I mentioned that Jim is going to be a full-time 'stay at home dad' starting on Monday?!?!?
Pretty exciting, huh? We've gone back and forth with the idea and finally decided that there's no time like the present - so we're just gonna do it!! I'm sure there will be a little bit of a transition period, but ultimately, it's going to be great and definintely the best thing for our family.
Please remind me of that when I'm at work and they're poolside. ;-)
I hope you're all doing swell...I'm keeping up on my blog reading, so I at least feel like I know what YOU are all up to.
I'll be writing more....at least that's what I'm saying today.....xoxo
Soon.....soon.....

13 days later....
OK - I'm not going to deny that it's been 13 days since my last post, and yes - that's totally unacceptable. But it's not entirely my fault. At some point during those 13 days, Blogger was being a brat and wouldn't work for me (or anyone else for that matter) so when I TRIED to write an entry, I couldn't.
Since we last 'spoke' -
I saw 'The Drowsy Chaperone' at SpeakEasy Stage Company in Boston and really enjoyed it. It has received RAVE reviews, and they're extending their run.....GO SEE IT!!!
Jim, Zachary, and I visited with friends from out of town who we hadn't seen in a long time....they're doing great, and it was a blast spending time with them again. They need to move back to MA...and that's that.
I played two softball games on Mother's Day - we won one (YAY!) and lost one (BOO!) but we played very well...a far cry from how we played opening weekend. There's hope!
Work, work, work....Zachary's 4 month appointment....seriously, FOUR MONTHS already?!?!
Craziness. After talking to his ENT specialist and pediatrician, we're going ahead with getting tubes put in. More on that later....but we're hoping that we get all the necessary approvals and we can put these ear infections behind us. Fingers crossed!!
We hung out with K and B, and brought Z to his first show!!! Well, he was AT the theatre, but we didn't watch much of it. I ended up feeding him during the first act, and then after intermission, he felt like 'talking', so we played in the lobby for a bit. I will say that when he was in the theatre itself (while the show was going on) he was silent and seemed fascinated by the kids on stage. He's sure to be an excellent audience member.
On Saturday (5/14) we I cleaned the house from top to bottom, while Jim cleaned up the yard, and then we met up with a couple of friends for dinner (one of my high school friends). After dinner, Jim took Zachary home and continued to prepare the house for Z's Christening the following day. I went to see what turned out to be an AMAZING production of 'Thoroughly Modern Millie' (apparently I'm only seeing Sutton Foster 'vehicles' this month) at a local high school. Seriously....this production blew me away. I can't even wait to see something there again. Rumor has it that they're producing 'Les Miserables' next year, which I'm SURE will be amazing. These were some of the most talented high school kids I've ever seen. Crazy.
Sunday was Zachary's Christening and it was a really fantastic day. We kept it very small, only inviting our families and closest friends - and in spite of the rain, it was a perfect day.
Some day we'll be able to post picture of all these amazing events that I'm talking about - but until then, you'll just have to be patient. :-)
I went to the dentist and Scooter went to the vet on Monday, and it's been raining all damn week...with no sign of relief (or the sun) in sight.
Now you're all caught up!!!!
Now it's my turn....I've got some SERIOUS blog reading to do.
Peace out!

Tra-La!
It's May.
Let's see what's happened since we last spoke.....
The softball season has officially started, and I can barely move. We had three games over the weekend and lost all three. We went to a super-fun event at our church (did I really just type that?), Osama Bin Laden was killed (allegedly), I had a great Monday off, and yesterday we celebrated Jim's birthday!!!
That's it - see you next week!!!!
Kidding. :-)
All of the above is true and to see it all summed up in one lil' paragraph is crazy, especially since I'm still exhausted from it all.
The weekend was crazy, but fun. I really am WAY too out of shape at this point....yikes. I need to get my fat ass back on track and shed some of this winter/baby weight. It's making me CRAZY. Monday was a great day - the weather was beautiful, and I got the chance to visit with my friend Melissa, who I hadn't seen in a LONG time. We had a super-fun visit and should probably try to do it again sometime, before Zachary is in pre-school.
Yesterday was Jim's birthday and was pretty low key. After work he opened up his presents from Zachary and Scooter - I wasn't allowed to buy him anything this year ;-) - too much 'stuff'!!
but Z and Scooter bought him Tina Fey's new book 'Bossypants', a stand for his iPad, and cologne. The three of us then went out to dinner at 'The Grille' (you know you're a regular when you walk into the building and three people yell 'Happy Birthday' as you enter) and then went back to his parent's house for cake and 'presents'.
Since we're trying to cut back on the amount of stuff, clutter, etc...etc...in our lives, he received gift cards, restaurant gift certificates, and the like....which are great gifts, but don't force us to bring more things in to the house. Perfect.
We spent some time there visiting and then went home and immediately went to bed.
So - here I am. It's Wednesday morning, and I'm blogging again. This week should be pretty quiet. We're seeing 'The Drowsy Chaperone' at SpeakEasy Stage Company on Friday night, spending the day Saturday doing nothing (which means we'll probably be cleaning and doing yard work) and then Sunday is Mother's Day.
I have two softball games that day, so I'll probably just swing by the cemetery to visit my mom on the way home after my games and then meet up with Jim and his family wherever they end up.
I should really get back to work and do something....as much as it KILLS me.
After I catch up on my blog reading, of course. :-)
xoxo
PS - blogspot and my work PC are SOOOO not getting along, so if this post looks all wonky it's because I gave up on trying to make it look decent. Annoying.
